Vintage Southern Railway Metal Sign Chase Manhattan Bank Owner Plate

The is a vintage train sign for Southern Railway. It measures 17.5" x 4.5" and is in fair to good condition. There is no rust or tarnish but the paint around the side holes is worn. It is metal and embossed and weighs 9 oz. It's feels like a license plate but is much longer. It looks like this might have been mounted on a train car or engine as proof of ownership.
